From baby steps with fiddle tunes I’ve progressed to a variety of instrumental styles including Medieval, Renaissance, Classical, Irish, Soundtracks, etc… But wait - there’s more! I discovered that I could sing too. Now I can cover many of my favorite musical heroes. With the added twist of crafting my own arrangements to these great songs with an ear for having the mandolin play a part. And lastly I started writing my own music.

To offer a richer sonic experience I’ve crafted unique backing tracks for many of the songs I perform. These are high quality mixes with a variety of instrumentation. I then play along with the mandolin and sing on vocal tunes.

My mandolin is a June A5 (#93) hand crafted by Walter Johnson from Virginia. I have an instrument mic on the mandolin instead of a pickup which I think gives a cleaner and clearer tone. My current Loudspeaker is an Everse 8 which is battery powered and has an amazing sound. At the heart of all this is a trusty Ipad with the app “forScore” keeping all the music and backing tracks organized.
